Infinite Ocean 2e Edition / Biarritz
The Infinite Ocean is the only International Surfboat Rowing Open. It takes place every 2 years in France, in Biarritz in September. This is an opportunity to bring together competitors from across Europe, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia. Surfboat Rowing is a sport born in Australia in the early 1900s of competition between Australian beach rescuers. In France, the discipline is attached to the French Federation of Rescue and First Aid.( FFSS.)

Surf Life Saving / Hossegor
The first club of "Surf LIfe Saving" was created in 1907 at Bondi Beach, Sydney Beach in Australia. Soon the nearby seaside resorts follow suit and many clubs encouraged by the municipalities are born. The "Beach Culture" is being born and is spreading rapidly around the world. The spirit of competition was born very quickly between the clubs and gave place to sporting and friendly meetings from the 1930s during "Surf Carnivals". The Hossegor club, the first of its kind in France, was created 20 years ago. It is part of the French Rescue Federation (FFSS) which has 58,000 volonteers.
